Water Management & Irrigation Services

Water Management and Budgeting

A detailed water usage audit typically result in 20-30% saving in water consumption and can result in tens of thousands of dollars in annual savings. Brett’s water management analysis is an integral part of a property manager's annual budgeting and cost reduction strategy.

Water Usage Analysis

A water management analysis starts with a comprehensive water audit and includes the collection of water consumption data from landscaping, people, and equipment on your campus. Analysis of the data leads to a water reduction plan and economic analysis to determine the effectiveness and return on investment of a water reduction project.

Water Reduction Project Planning

Water management analysis and a water reduction planning is made possible through our implementation of the latest water management monitoring technologies, understanding and adjusting for seasonal trends, comparing the water usage and potential cost saving against similar properties and reviewing best practices for water-efficient landscaping design and plant selection, together with a water-efficient irrigation system.

Ongoing Monitoring of Irrigation Equipment

Brett's water management includes ongoing monitoring and adjustment to maximize plant success and reduce water consumption. Irrigation systems are monitored and inspected for damage, leaks, and appropriate setting for areas under irrigation. Spray patterns of sprinkler systems are tested and adjusted, we check for clogged lines and mixed nozzle sizes of sprinkler heads, and repair any leaks. Best practices are implemented to reduce the loss of water through evaporation or wind.

Landscape Maintenance for Reduced Water Consumption

With Brett’s constant monitoring, landscaping can be maintained and irrigation services adjusted to attain the water consumption goals. Our landscaping and irrigation services include water management techniques such as drip irrigation for ornamental shrubs to reduce water usage, setting lawn mower blades higher to increase ground shade and water retention in the soil, and mulching around shrubs and planters to minimize evaporation and cut down on weeds.

Irrigation Adjustments for Healthy Plants

Consideration is given to seasonal changes and weather patterns, and watering timing is adjusted accordingly. Frequency and duration will be adjusted according to plant requirements—trees and shrubs require deep watering but less frequently than grass and turf who’s shallow roots respond to more frequent but shorter irrigation cycles. By installing smart irrigation controllers, rain shut-off devices or in-ground moisture sensors, we ensure plants are only watered when needed, significantly reducing water irrigation costs and protecting plants from overwatering damage.
